Google’s Pixel phones will be available in Quite Black, Very Silver, and Really Blue color variants. However, the Really Blue color will be limited to select markets. With Pixel phones, Google has officially said goodbye to its Nexus lineup. Pixel is the new Nexus for Google. HTC has been a principal consultant for Google while designing the Pixel phones. Interestingly, these phones display ‘Phone by Google’ branding. We can comfortably mark Pixel phones as Google’s official entry into the world of phone manufacturing. In accordance to previous leaks, Google Pixel phones are indeed made up of aluminium and glass. The rear slab is made up of Glass, which gives a premium look to the design. The 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 4 displays provide the much-needed strength to Pixel phones. Google has given a new name to fingerprint sensor – Pixel Imprint. Similar to the Nexus devices, wherein the fingerprint sensor was appointed as Nexus Imprint.

At the event, Google also tipped about some exclusive Android 7.0 Nougat-based features on the Pixel phones. Google believes that these features will make the Pixel phones will give them leverage over other smartphones in the market.
Pixel phones are deeply integrated with Google Allo and Google Duo
Yes, Pixel phones are the first to come deeply integrated with Google personal assistant – Allo. Google developed Allo by using Artificial Intelligence, which equips it for handling two-way conversations. On Pixel phones, users can launch Allo by voice command “OK Google” or by holding the Home button. Users can use Allo for a variety of tasks such as booking movie tickets, setting up alarm, performing random searches, and more. Along with Allo, Pixel phone users will also get Google Now on Top feature, Google Duo (video-calling app), and other Google apps.
Camera performance on Pixel phones
Google does not want to leave any stone unturned for making Pixel phones a success. The tech giant has quoted camera benchmarking website – DxOMark, which has given a score of 89 to Pixel phones for camera performance. The 12.3-megapixel rear camera on Pixel phones can click images in 1.55-micron pixels. Google has integrated the camera with Smartburst feature, which is a revived version of burst mode. The Pixel phone also has Lens Blur feature that allows users to experiment with depth of field for capturing DSLR-like shots. The phones are integrated Gyroscopes for stabilizing video recording. Users will not have to worry about storing high-res images on Pixel phones as Google is offering unlimited storage on Google Photos. Also, Google has made Pixel phone compatible with its new $79 Daydream View VR headset that comes with a motion controller.

It goes without saying that like the Nexus devices, Google will give priority to Pixel phones when rolling out updates. As an add-on feature Google has integrated the Pixel phones with a 24-hour live support for checking it remotely.
Pricing and Availability
Google Pixel will retail at $649 for the 32GB storage variant while the 128GB variant will cost $749. The Pixel XL will cost $769 for the 32GB model and its 128GB variant will retail at $849. Pre-orders in the US start from today.
